Dr. Dennis Keane
Dr. Dennis Keane is a board-certified physiatrist with over 35 years of dedicated clinical experience in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. A graduate of the University of Michigan Medical School (1989), Dr. Keane completed his internship at Los Angeles County Harbor-UCLA Medical Center before returning to Chicago for his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Rush-Presbyterian St. Luke's Medical Center.
At the heart of Dr. Keane's career is his long-tenured leadership of the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora. Under his direction, the unit has become one of the most respected acute inpatient rehabilitation programs in Illinois, recognized for clinical excellence in stroke recovery, spinal cord injury, and cancer rehabilitation. The program has been consistently ranked among the best rehabilitation hospitals in Illinois by Newsweek, including a #2 ranking in Illinois in both 2022 and 2024.
Dr. Keane is widely regarded as a pioneer and leader in the field of Transitional Care Medicine, the critical continuum of care that bridges acute hospitalization and community reintegration. His focus on smooth, evidence-based care transitions has set a standard across the region and reflects his deep commitment to patient outcomes beyond the hospital walls.
